The first-ever Cwrt Cymru has officially opened in Grangetown, Cardiff, marking the launch of an exciting new initiative from the Cymru Football Foundation that aims to create inspiring community football spaces across Wales.
Designed to encourage participation, celebrate local identity and create a sense of pride within communities, Cwrt Cymru will see a series of football facilities developed across Wales, each reflecting the unique character of the area it serves.
Andco Studio was proud to partner with the Cymru Football Foundation to develop the Cwrt Cymru brand identity and environmental design approach.
Working closely with the Foundation, Senior Designer Lois James played a key role in shaping the creative vision for the project, developing a distinctive visual language that celebrates community, place and participation. Working alongside Creative Director Alex Jarvis and the wider Andco Studio team, the identity was designed as a flexible system that can be adapted to future locations while maintaining a strong and recognisable national presence.
The newly opened Grangetown court is the first example of the brand brought to life, featuring bold typography, local references and striking environmental graphics that transform the space into a destination the community can be proud of.

We’re excited to see future Cwrt Cymru locations emerge across Wales.”
