The Football Association of Wales launched a new Coach Education Pathway to make it easier for aspiring coaches to understand their journey from grassroots to elite level. The aim was to clearly explain the updated structure, from the FAW Introduction to Coaching Football all the way to the UEFA Pro Licence, and to inspire the next generation of coaches to begin their careers.
To support this, we were commissioned to create a series of engaging explainer videos and teaching assets that would bring the new pathway to life in an accessible and inspiring way.
Working within the FAW Coach Education brand, our motion design team developed a clear, animated storytelling style that visually guides viewers through each step of the pathway.
We produced four videos in total – the Outfield Coach and Goalkeeper Pathways, each in both English and Welsh – using consistent graphics, colour transitions, and motion cues to differentiate the grassroots and elite stages.
We collaborated closely with a local Welsh voiceover artist and our translation team to ensure every version was accurate, engaging, and culturally authentic. The result was a clear, professional tone that aligned with FAW’s high production standards while remaining accessible to all audiences.
Alongside the videos, we designed the full presentation slide deck used to deliver the Coach Education Pathway course itself. This ensured visual consistency across all touchpoints and reinforced Andco’s ongoing role in supporting the FAW with high-quality design materials that simplify communication and enhance engagement.
The final suite of assets including the four videos and presentation deck, was rolled out across the FAW Coach Education website, social media, and training materials. Together, they provide a clear and inspiring guide for new and existing coaches, strengthening the FAW’s reputation for world-class coach development and setting a new standard for how the organisation communicates complex information through design.
